Officials said they also suspended efforts to save the idea on the island of Santa Cruz because conditions were expected to last until the weekend.
Santa Barbara County Sheriff's Lieutenant Erik Raney says the idea was protected under water, where it may also reside until it is safe to resume the rescue operation.
